It’s my turn to host a weeklong series on a single topic and I chose what I call “The New Normals” in American life — the economy, our politics, and our new relationship to the state.
It’s not the happiest subject ever, but we managed to end the series on the upbeat.

He lives with his wife and sons in the wooded hills of Monument, Colorado, where he enjoys the occasional adult beverage.
