For months, Antifa members have firebombed, doxxed, and assaulted agents at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters in Portland, Oregon, but the city, county, and state governor have largely ignored it. Now that President Donald Trump has federalized Oregon National Guard troops to back ICE up, the governor has gone full Baghdad Bob, claiming there's no violence in Portland.
The unfortunately named governor, Tina Kotek, doesn't seem to be the least bit concerned that her fellow Oregon citizens, who work for ICE, are being put in danger by the very people she claims aren't doing any violence in her state's largest city. One wonders if she's been eating lead paint chips from the windowsills of Mahonia Hall as she gazes out looking for violence in a completely different city.
After ignoring the anti-ICE violence for all these months and even speaking out in court in support of Antifa's right to squat in front of ICE HQ and disturb the peace on most nights, it looks like Kotek placed a call to make it look like the local cops are "doing something" about the violence. It didn't take long for them to find any.
The Portland Police probably told the violent protesters, Go with us and get out in a day or get arrested by the feds and take your chances in front of a federal grand jury and a motivated federal government.

Kotek says she spoke to President Trump and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem to assure them that Portland "believes in the rule of law" and that "there's no threat to national security." She claimed that federalizing the National Guard to back up ICE is "absurd" and "unAmerican." Her statement on X should have come with a laugh track.
Would you like to know what's "absurd" and "unAmerican"? Allowing your citizens in a neighborhood full of condos and Section 8 housing to be held hostage by a terrorist organization that is trying to burn down yet another Portland federal building.
As Catherine noted in her story, Noem made the request for federal backup for ICE after the Dallas ICE sniper attack.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem expressed anger after Joshua Jahn shot at ICE agents and illegal alien detainees in Dallas, killing one detainee and injuring others. The shooting highlighted the horrifying fact that attacks on ICE officers are up 1000%, courtesy of the Democrat Party and leftist terrorist groups.
After the Dallas shooting, Noem posted on X, “For months, we’ve been warning politicians and the media to tone down their rhetoric about ICE law enforcement before someone was killed.”
Portland's ripe for a Dallas-like ICE attack. Portland has already seen open violence, including a shootout and an assassination on the streets by Antifa.
As I pointed out in my last "Adult in the Room" podcast below, someone should tell these leftists to "stop shooting people."
MESSAGE TO DEMOCRATS: STOP SHOOTING PEOPLE.

My friends over at Oregon Catalyst report that you'd have to be willfully blind to miss the recent violence at the ICE HQ in southwest Portland.
• Multiple law enforcement personnel have been injured during the recent Portland ICE riots.
• Nearby residents have been assaulted
• 3 independent journalists have been assaulted.
• The nearby school has closed due to the riots. • Police are unable to enforce open law breaking that is going on nightly. • Residents nearby cannot open their windows because of both the tear gas used as riot control and also the large volume of smoke bombs used by protesters.
• Local shops are losing business as the riots damage windows and chase away customers.
• Anti-ICE Protesters shut down Portland Mayor’s recent public speech and forced him to leave the area. Free speech is being attacked in public.
• Law enforcement officials have had their names, addresses and family photos of family members posted online.
• Rioters zip-tied the ICE office doors and then tried to set fires upon the building.
Catalyst followed their list of horribles with photos of the riots and general unrest.
Portland's ICE attacks have been going on for years, starting in earnest in 2017 with protests. They progressed in 2018 to violent protests or riots. In 2019, there were more protest with "moderate" violence. In 2020, some of the Antifa activity during the months-long "Summer of Love" included occupying ICE. Protest activity bumped along through 2021-2024 and, after Trump's 2024 election, intensified to the riot activity outside the HQ you see today.
