Trump’s DoJ Does an About-FACE on Biden’s Religious Persecutions, and the Left Can’t Handle it

One of the reasons why 100 lawyers just left the Department of Justice’s (DoJ) civil rights division has to do with getting paid to sit on the beach through September, but they’re also leaving because… #Resist! And they’re really resisting the overhaul of priorities by the Trump administration. Indeed, their red-diaper-baby behinds are feeling a little chafed.

After the leader of the civil rights division, Harmeet Dhillon, reprioritized the job of the DoJ civil rights division to focus on religious freedom, targeting antisemitism, and ridding the country of racist DEI programs, those attorneys chose to take a buyout rather than work against their woke ideology. The deadline for the buyout was Monday.

In a recent interview with Blaze TV’s Glenn Beck, Dhillon generally talked about the complete hostility to religious freedom practices by the Biden administration’s DoJ civil rights division.

Beck asked Dhillon about the people “persecuted” and imprisoned for what the Biden administration said were violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, otherwise known as the FACE Act, which she says should now apply to violence done at crisis pregnancy centers. Sauce for the goose, and all that.

Recently, President Donald Trump pardoned or commuted the sentences of 23 people imprisoned for praying, protesting, and, in some cases, chaining themselves together and to furniture in abortion clinics in an attempt to convince would-be mothers not to abort their babies. The left was horrified that anyone would protest its church's high holy sacrament.

Dhillon says that they will prosecute actual violence: "We are not going to be pursuing these FACE Act cases other than in extraordinary circumstances involving death, serious bodily harm, or extreme property damage; none of those recent cases have any of those fact patterns."

It must have come as quite a shock to these babies when Dhillon told them that the new priorities would not be their woke agenda, like raiding the home of a man and his son who prayed outside an abortion clinic.

The woke DoJ civil rights division attorneys probably felt that if you can't send out FBI SWAT teams at 6 a.m. to scare innocent people for no reason, then what fun is the gig?

But she's not stopping there. Dhillon also says she will repurpose the FACE Act to go after people who attack religious-based crisis pregnancy centers. These are where most of the violent attacks have been, according to Dhillon.

Dhillon is going after antisemitism as well. It's clear from campus protests timed around the election that Jews are not high on the list of persons who should be given religious protection. The scandalized leftist bar is still trying to stop the deportation of the man who helped start and direct those anti-Jewish protests on campus.

To these now former DoJ lawyers, woke is more important than the Constitution. Good grief, they still teach about the Constitution in law schools, don’t they? Have all woke universities gotten rid of con law classes or something?

As you have probably divined, there are still constitutional law courses at the Ivy League law schools, but they’re infused with critical race theory, gender law, immigrant rights, environmental “justice,” criminal justice and the left’s cause célèbre of the moment, “mass incarceration,” economic inequality, and the rest of the woke religion. I’m not suggesting that some of these things are unimportant, but it should be noted that they pale in comparison to the Bill of Rights. Just sayin’.
