Rosie O'Donnell: 'I Got Physically Sick' When Trump Won

On Thursday evening, Rosie O’Donnell finally shared what happened to her the night Donald Trump got elected. It was not pretty.

“I actually got physically sick. I got physically sick that night, and I thought to myself, ‘This cannot be happening,'” O’Donnell said. She described being “away, by myself, in Boston,” and her therapist told her to “do your job.”

“When he got the nomination, I thought, ‘Well, we’ve just got to wait till Election Day, that’s all I have to do is hold on till then.’ And then that he won, it took me a good year to compose myself to be out in public again,” she added.

“I took a year out of the spotlight,” Rosie O’Donnell explained.

Many Americans hoped it would have taken her more than a year. In the time since Trump was elected, Rosie O’Donnell has called for martial law to prevent his inauguration, she has attempted to bribe Senators Jeff Flake and Susan Collins to vote against the tax reform bill, and she has wondered whether she’d be able to survive the Trump presidency.

The Trump derangement syndrome is strong in this one. But America knew that already. What we didn’t know was just how physical Rosie O’Donnell’s reaction was when she got the news that Hillary Clinton would not be America’s first woman president. Now we know — she puked her guts out.
