Trump, Gorsuch Get Glorious New Wikipedia Updates: 'Lib Destroyer in Chief,' and 'Lib Owner'

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch has achieved a rare Internet distinction: his Wikipedia page has been updated to describe him as a “world-renowned lib owner,” so the description is the first thing that comes up on a Google search. President Donald Trump and Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao have also had their Google results embellished with snarky descriptions.

When you Google “Neil Gorsuch,” the Wikipedia result describes him as “Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and world-renowned lib owner.”

Gorsuch attained the high rank of “lib owner” by delivering the key fifth vote in major Supreme Court decisions like Janus v. AFSCME (a free speech case against forced union payments), NIFLA v. Becerra (another free speech case defending pro-life pregnancy centers from a law forcing them to advertise abortion clinics), and Trump v. Hawaii (a case upholding President Donald Trump’s authority over alien immigration through his notorious travel ban).

There is no doubt Gorsuch deserves this honor, but it does obscure the point — the justices of the Supreme Court are not intended to be partisan, and in each of these cases Gorsuch upheld the law against liberals attempting to twist the law against free speech and Trump’s rightful authority as president.

Even so, conservatives will glory in the justice’s title.

IJ Review’s Caleb Hull also noted that the Google results for President Donald Trump also give him an epic title — “lib destroyer in chief.”

The results for Elaine Chao, Trump’s treasury secretary and wife to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), dub her “Head of Security for Cocaine Mitch.” This referenced Chao’s bold defense of her husband from a liberal mob (rightly noted and praised by our own Liz Sheld in her Morning Briefing), and the ridiculous attack of “Cocaine Mitch,” now a political insider meme.

Wikipedia is an open-source encyclopedia, meaning that anyone with an account can edit it, although in reality the site’s editors usually prevent edits of the kind made to the pages for Gorsuch, Trump, and Chao.

Still, the coincidence is wonderful.
