In apparent contradiction of media whispers about the allegedly liberal-leaning Murdoch brothers’ interest in taking the Fox News Channel in a more mainstream and less conservative direction, veteran conservative talker and writer Laura Ingraham has gotten the prime time show that PJ Media Editor Paula Bolyard speculated about on Hot Mic a few weeks ago.

The Ingraham Angle (which was also the name of her segments on The O’ Reilly Factor) premieres on Monday, Oct. 30, at 10 p.m. No word yet on the exact format, but in a statement, the network said, “Ingraham will challenge the decision makers to focus on everyday, hard-working Americans who serve as the backbone of the nation.”

Ingraham’s successful radio talk show, The Laura Ingraham Show, hit the airwaves in 2001, and LifeZette.com, the political, lifestyle, and parenting website at which she serves as editor-in-chief launched in 2015. Ingraham is the author of five books, including the New York Times #1 bestsellers Power to the People and The Obama Diaries.

In other Ingraham news, a press release from St. Martin’s Press indicates that her new book, Billionaire at the Barricades: The Populist Revolution from Reagan to Trumpis slated for an October 2017 release. The book is the first major acquisition by All Points Books, the new Adam Bellow-helmed conservative-friendly imprint at St. Martin’s.

Conservative stalwart Sean Hannity will reclaim his old 9 p.m. slot this Monday, Sept. 25. Hannity has been a reliable voice in support of President Trump, and has vowed to indefatigably expose the machinations behind what Trump has called the Robert Mueller “witchhunt.”

After the election, the Hannity host and his guests came quickly to the defense of the president by expressly countering the mainstream narrative about Russian collusion with the Trump campaign. According to deep-digging journalists on the show, and presidential counsel Jay Sekulow, allegations of improper leaking, unmasking, surveillance, the handling of classified info, and other potential abuses of power may lead all the way up to Hillary Clinton, and possibly President Obama himself.

Under scrutiny are top advisor Valerie Jarrett, former FBI director James Comey, Ambassador Samantha Power, and the demonstrably corrupt Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), among many others.

In the interim between Hannity’s return to 9 p.m. and Ingraham’s Oct. 30 debut, an apparent general news program called Fox News Tonight will fill the 10 p.m. slot. No anchor or host information is available. Tucker Carlson Tonight will continue to hold down the 8 p.m. hour, while The Five takes its roundtable discussion of all things topical back to its previous 5 p.m. slot. (All times Eastern.)

Ingraham, a consistent Trump supporter over the course of the campaign and since the election, vehemently ran cover for President Trump on Special Report when FNC contributor Charles Krauthammer questioned Trump’s morality after a series of what many felt were muddled presidential statements in the wake of the Charlottesville protests and counter-protests.

More recently, Ingraham talked about her new show on Fox and Friends, and the disrespect shown Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) by the so-called DACA “dreamers” who shouted the House Minority Leader down.

Have rumors that FNC — under post-Rupert Murdoch influence from 21st Century Fox Chief Executive James Murdoch and Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch — was considering a politically-neutered calibration of the right-leaning cable flagship been quashed by the placement of two staunch conservatives in later prime?

As reported in the New York Times on July 17, 2016: “James Murdoch has been careful not to criticize Mr. [then-FNC CEO Roger] Ailes in public, but people close to him say that he has expressed private concerns that the Fox News brand casts an unfavorable shadow on other parts of the company, particularly in Hollywood.”

Roger Ailes, who died in May of this year, “resigned” on July 21, 2016.

For conservatives concerned about losing a network committed to balancing news and debate with more than a fair share of right-leaning voices, the new pairing of Hannity/Ingraham at the top of the line-up likely comes with a sigh of relief.
