Establishment Media Takes Aim at Jared Kushner: 'He's Losing Clout!'

After failing to take down Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon in the first half of the year, the establishment media have clearly decided to focus on another important member of Trump’s inner circle: Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser.

Kushner has long been a favorite of the president. On the day he first entered the White House, Kushner became his go-to guy in charge of a wide array of issues, including… peace in the Middle East.

However, according to the Washington Examiner, Kushner is now in serious trouble. The reason? Reports that he suggested creating a secret and secure channel of communication between Trump and the Kremlin. Apparently, Trump feels so terribly humiliated by these reports that he’s had it with his daughter’s husband.

Trump, the report said, was irate, breaking a tradition of keeping his family on a pedestal and instead used White House meetings over the following days to take jabs at Kushner and his family, a road not usually taken by a man who sees family loyalty as a top priority.

Kushner is increasingly bearing the blunt of Trump’s harsh words, unlike at the beginning of his White House stint.

The Examiner gleefully adds that although Kushner may not be on his way out already, he and Ivanka are regularly reviewing their work in Washington, D.C., and may decide to go back to Massachusetts at any given time.

Right.

What’s so striking about these reports is the fact that the establishment media wrote very similar stories about Steve Bannon only a few months ago. Oh yes, they said, Trump was considering dumping his entire inner circle including Sean Spicer and the hated (by the media, that is) former head of Breitbart.com.

Last time I checked, however, Bannon was still working in the White House, giving Trump advice on political strategy. Instead of admitting their mistake, the media have now quickly turned from Bannon to Kushner, and are pretending that he‘s suddenly the one in trouble.

It’s a blatant effort to undermine Trump himself by taking down his most trusted advisers one by one.

Enough with this. Trump needs to take to Twitter or organize a press conference and explain that he stands by his top advisers no matter what. He needs to do that every day, for months, until the media understand he’s serious and leave them the heck alone. Then and only then can he even consider making any significant changes in his team.
