UN Deeply Concerned that Rape and Murder Might Make People 'Xenophobic'

The United Nations is always reaffirming its “Most Useless Organization Ever” status.

UN member-states adopted a plan on Monday to tackle the biggest refugee crisis since World War II amid dire warnings about rising xenophobia in Europe and the collapse of countries bordering war-shattered Syria.

The first-ever UN summit on refugees and migrants kicked off a week of high-level diplomacy as world leaders take part in the annual General Assembly meeting, dominated this year by the conflict in Syria.

Speaking at the summit opening, UN human rights chief Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein made a rousing appeal to confront “race-baiting bigots,” recalling that the refugee crisis stemmed from the world’s failure to end the war in Syria.

“This should not be a comfortable summit,” he told the gathering at the UN General Assembly.

“The defenders of what is right and good are being outflanked in too many countries by race-baiting bigots, who seek to gain, or retain, power by wielding prejudice and deceit at the expense of those most vulnerable,” he said.

Or…the defenders of what is right and good think that a country has a duty to prioritize the safety of its citizens over arbitrary feel-good policy that is enacted merely to avoid a public shaming from an international body that resents all of the people who keep it afloat.

As it is 2016 and nuance in political conversation has been slowly strangled to death by leftists over the last decade, it is impossible to have a discussion about reasonable vs. dangerous migrant policy. You’re either willing to let everyone in or you’re engaging in wholesale xenophobia, according to Ban Ki-moon and his ilk.

Ask Angela Merkel how that approach is working out for her.

The leftist “Xenophobia!” outcry has become so surreal that terrorism and sexual assault are either ignored or defended to keep the narrative alive. The mere suggestion that there should be a strict vetting process is met with accusations of being a bigot. Sadly, many major political figures are more worried about that accusation than the very real consequences of policy based on emotion and wishful thinking.

The UN and its public scolding rituals are criminally dangerous, and yet another argument for getting rid of, or at least drastically overhauling, the organization.
