I’d like to think I had a small part in this.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has released Black Friday statistics on firearms purchases and, ladies and gentlemen, we have a record. There were more background checks on Black Friday 2015 than any other day on record. “The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 185,345 requests on Nov. 27, one of the largest retail sales days in the country.”
We don’t know for sure the reason for the increase in sales for 2015, but I suspect it has to do with the president agitating once again for more gun control, hinting he may make an end-run around that pesky Constitution and throw down some executive orders.
“This was an approximate 5% increase over the 175,754 received on Black Friday 2014,” wrote Stephen Fischer, the FBI’s chief of multimedia productions. “The previous high for receipts were the 177,170 received on 12/21/2012.”
No one in history has increased sales for the firearms industry more than Barack Obama.
Black Fridays have traditionally been a big day for firearms sales. Background checks for the years 2014, 2013, and 2012 top the FBIs “top ten” list for most background checks in a 24-hour period.
The record-breaking number of background checks came the same day as a lunatic shot three people while holed up inside a Colorado Planned Parenthood. The public didn’t even have the benefit of hearing Obama grandstanding for gun control when gun background checks hit the roof.
On Saturday, Obama informed the public regarding the Colorado shootings:
“This is not normal. We can’t let it become normal. If we truly care about this — if we’re going to offer up our thoughts and prayers again, for God knows how many times, with a truly clean conscience — then we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough.”
No information has been disclosed about what weapons the lunatic had in his possession or if he acquired them legally, but Obama never misses an opportunity to increase his executive powers.
