Police Seek Help Finding the 'Portland Pooper'

Portland, Oregon, is one of those “anything goes” kind of towns. The newest evidence of Portland’s, um, uniqueness is the latest crime wave sweeping one area of town: a man has been seen defecating in public in certain areas of town. And now police want the public’s help in catching the “Portland Pooper.”

Officers say the man pictured in flyers posted around the city has officially been called a suspect.

“I think it’s really gross and shocking,” Britni Smith said. “I don’t know what to say about it.”

Many Southeast Portland residents want to know the circumstances behind the man who has been captured doing his business outside a building near SE 58th and Powell.

“I find it interesting that he has toilet paper with him, it’s very pre-planned,” Catrina Salazar, who works nearby at Phix Hair Studio, told KOIN 6 News. “You just don’t really know what to expect around here. People, they like do their own thing, they kind of march to the beat of their own drum.”

Flyers and posters with his face have been posted around the neighborhood.

The man could face offensive littering charges.

So come on, Portlandians. If you see someone doing number two in your neighborhood, make it your number one priority to call the police.
