During Saturday’s Major League Baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals, Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully gracefully helped us to remember the Normandy landings that took place on June 6th, 1944. His closing sentence absolutely nails it.
It’s things like this that put this man in a league of his own, and Twitter was grateful for his all-American reminder.
@Dodgers Thank you, History does matter.

@OhMyGabs24 Vin described it perfectly. — Garrett Cox (@MoxyCoxy24) June 7, 2015
@Dodgers Vin is not just a baseball icon, he is an American icon.

Thanks for putting the great cost of our freedom into perspective, Mr. Scully.
