Rasmussen: Only 33% Rate Obama's Zimmerman Response as Good or Excellent

Maybe this is why Obama is pivoting to jobs again. His pivot to race backfired right out of the barrel.

Like responses to the George Zimmerman verdict itself, voters give the Obama administration mixed reviews for its reaction to the outcome of the Trayvon Martin case. But voters share President Obama’s concern about racial profiling.

Thirty-three percent (33%) of Likely U.S. Voters now rate the way the administration has responded to the Zimmerman verdict as good or excellent, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Slightly more (38%) view the administration’s response as poor.

Obama’s impact on race relations has been terrible, according to that NBC/WSJ poll cited earlier. Politico writes it up:

Only 52 percent of whites and 38 percent of blacks have a favorable opinion of race relations in the country, according to the poll, which has tracked race relations since 1994 and was conducted in mid-July by Hart Research Associations and Public Opinion Strategies.

That’s a sharp drop from the beginning of Obama’s first term, when 79 percent of whites and 63 percent of blacks held a favorable view of American race relations.

Negative views on race relations have also increased substantially. According to the poll [pdf], 45 percent of whites and 58 percent African-Americans now believe race relations are very or fairly bad, compared with 2009, when  only 20 percent of whites and 30 percent of blacks held an unfavorable view.

Obama came to power promising to be a post-racial president, but he has governed as a most-racial president. Trayvon could’ve been his son, until that line didn’t work, and then Trayvon became Obama himself. Even though as a mixed-race man and son of an immigrant, Obama has more in common with George Zimmerman than he had with Trayvon Martin.

None of this is by accident. Obama divides to win, and he and the Democrats use every excuse to pin opposition to his policies on raaaacism, not the fact that his policies are terrible. They know what they’re doing.

By the way, why is it that Zimmerman’s white half gets all the play in the media, while Obama’s white half is all but forgotten?

Yeah, I know the answer. The two mens’ white halves live and die at the convenience of the president and the media, and the media’s narratives.
