AZ Gov Brewer to Obama: If You Can Write an Executive Order, I Can Write One Too

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is fighting President Obama’s executive order-based amnesty-lite, which kicked in nationwide yesterday.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Wednesday ordered state agencies to deny driver’s licenses and other public benefits to young illegal immigrants who obtain work authorizations under a new Obama administration policy.

In an executive order, Brewer said she was reaffirming the intent of current Arizona law denying taxpayer-funded public benefits and state identification to illegal immigrants.

The insecure US-Mexico border has made Arizona ground zero for kidnappings and other related crimes. Rather than help the state secure its citizens, the Obama government has sued the state to keep enforcement down. Public benefits are among the magnets that attract illegal aliens to cross into the US. Arizona state law forbids extending public benefits to illegal aliens, but Obama’s executive order violates those laws. So Arizona is standing its ground.

The Obama government clearly does not care about real border security, and expects “rewards” in the form of votes for its actions. A second-term Obama can be  expected to sue Arizona to force the state to extend benefits to illegal aliens.
