Tommy Christopher, Mediaite doofus about town:
The mainstream media, and even some in the liberal opinion media, have completely missed the point of President Obama’s dust-up with Speaker John Boehner over the date for Obama’s address before a joint session of Congress. MSM yakkers have advanced the “pox on both their houses” meme, while liberals like Ed Schultz accuse the President of “caving,” all ignoring the fact that Boehner has insulted and disrespected the office of the President of the United States, and should resign.
Um, it’s evidently news to Tommy Christopher, but insulting the president is about as American as playing baseball while feasting on apple pie. Our ancestors fought off a king to give us that right, among others.
And what Boehner did that has Tommy in a liberal snit was suggest that the night the president wanted to turn Congress into props for his re-election campaign kick-off wouldn’t work. In choosing that night, when the GOP presidential contenders are debating at the Reagan Library, the president and his team intentionally picked a fight so ludicrous and ham-handed that even James Carville says they went too far. As Speaker of the House, Boehner leads part of a branch of government that’s co-equal with the one The Won leads. Obama tried muscling in on the GOP debate night and got pushed back like the 90-lb weakling he is.
So stop embarrassing yourself and Mediaite, Tommy. That post may be the single dumbest thing Mediaite has ever published.
