Obama's Answers to the Downgrade: Another Trip, Another Speech (Update: And a Pair of Fundraisers)

The day the United States experienced our first credit downgrade ever, and two days before the president sent Tim Geithner, David Axelrod and John Kerry out to bash S&P and blame the downgrade on the Tea Party, President Barack Obama went out to enjoy the weekend at Camp David. That trip followed half a week of partying while the president and his supporters celebrated his 50th birthday.

And today, with the markets reacting negatively to the rolling downgrades of US credit, President Obama is evidently planning no personnel moves, no initiatives, nothing at all, but another speech.

Addendum: It’s rich to hear Tim Geithner, who failed to pay his own personal taxes for years, lecturing S&P about its math error when the Obama administration itself has been guilty of making its own $2 trillion dollar error.
