Two flights from Japan trigger radiation monitors (Plus: Atsugi NAF skipper announces voluntary evac)

Chicago and Dallas. Low levels of radiation detected.

Tests on the jet that landed at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport showed low levels of radiation on the travelers’ luggage and inside the cabin’s filtration system.

No passengers were quarantined.

Presumably these flights originated at Narita International, outside Tokyo, but the passengers may have originated from up north and nearer the nuclear plants in crisis.

Update: The commander at Atsugi Naval Air Facility, Tokyo, has issued a voluntary EVAC for families of military personnel stationed there.
