CPAC panelist: GOP should reach out to Nation of Islam (e.g. Louis Farrakhan)

A panelist at this past weekend’s CPAC convention recommended that conservatives outreach to groups including Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam. The speaker, CJ Jordan, was a participant on a panel moderated and organized by American Conservative Union (ACU) board member Suhail Khan entitled “Conservative Inclusion: A Roundtable Discussion”. Jordan is the president of the National Black Republican Leadership Council and was the national coordinator for African-Americans for Senator McCain during the 2008 presidential campaign.

The Nation of Islam is a racist hate group identified by the Anti Defamation League (ADL) and other watchdog groups for its active promotion of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and its doctrinal belief that whites were created to be sub-human.

Video of Jordan’s comments is forthcoming.

Suhail Khan, who heads up the “Conservative Inclusion Coalition” and moderated two CPAC panels this past weekend, himself made news at CPAC by claiming that “there is no Muslim Brotherhood in the United States” – a story that broke exclusively here at the PJ Tatler. Khan’s laughable claim was contradicted by American Islamic Forum for Democracy president Zuhdi Jasser in an interview on today’s Glenn Beck radio program. The Chicago Tribune also ran an extensive profile of the Muslim Brotherhood in the US back in September 2004.
