In an era where idiotic hot takes are all the rage, no one inspires more of them than former President Donald Trump. Anything he does or anything that happens to him turns on a fire hose of hot takes. The Soviet show trial verdict in Manhattan created a flash flood of them.
Kevin and I are no strangers to hot takes — we exchange them as gifts for Christmas and Arbor Day every year. There is also the fact that we get paid for them, which is nice work if you can get it.
The difference between us and other hot take types in the world is that we acknowledge that ours could freeze over at any moment. We are not prognosticators — we're professional observers, a skill honed by the decades each of us has spent as professional comics. That enables us to be educated guessers.
Our experience and credentials notwithstanding, we know that this election probably has an inexhaustible supply of curveballs to throw at us.
