In modern American politics, it is referred to as “bipartisanship” and it is spoken of as if there are a host of virtues inherent in it. As many of us have pointed out for years, “bipartisan” now really means, “the Republicans gave the Democrats what they wanted.” Naturally, the great Margaret Thatcher was way ahead of the curve on this issue too.
