I can’t tell you how many French people I have had tell me over the last couple of decades that I come from a state filled with Eco-Nazis who won’t let a good man or woman smoke! And now this? Okay, I remember years ago Piere Mendes France had that wine sobriety campaign on the Metro, but Jean-Paul Sartre without a cigeratte? What next? Piaf declared a virgin? Yves Montand a Republican?
