As her Squadmates Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar grow progressively more notorious with each passing anti-Semitic comment, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s star has somewhat faded in the Leftist firmament. However, vindication has come at last for AOC. The Independent reported Tuesday that Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists had “rigged cows with explosives in an attack on Iraqi security forces, in what is thought to be the first time the group has weaponised cattle.” When I read that, the first thing I thought was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was right all along. How, oh how, could we ever have doubted the socialist wunderkind?
“The two cows,” reported the Independent, “were strapped with explosives belts and were heading towards a military checkpoint in Diyala province when Iraqi soldiers opened fire and ‘blew them up.’”
AOC (D-N.Y.) was buried under an avalanche of ridicule when she unveiled her “Green New Deal” program. And it certainly seemed well-deserved at the time. The FAQ provided by Ocasio-Cortez’s office spoke of the United States providing “economic security for all,” including not just those who were “unable,” but also those who were “unwilling” to work. Who could object? Surely The Rich will cheerfully pony up to support these contemplatives in the manner to which they have become accustomed – and if they don’t, they’ll have to face the consequences with which socialists have always rewarded dissenters.
AOC’s plan also promised that the United States would become able within the next few years “to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes.” Everyone laughed. Get rid of “farting cows”? But now we see how far-seeing the Green New Deal plan really is: no cows, no ISIS explosives. No ISIS explosives and peace will reign throughout the world.
The most unsettling passage of the Green New Deal plan, however, was not the death fatwa on flatulent cows. It was this: “Nearly every major Democratic Presidential contender say they back the Green New deal including: Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Jeff Merkeley, Julian Castro, Kirsten Gillibrand, Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, and Jay Inslee.”
The old commie Bernie and Fauxcahontas are leading the field these days, along with Crazy Joe, and they’re completely behind the Green New Deal. They didn’t laugh Ocasio-Cortez out of the room for announcing a plan that included the intention to “upgrade or replace every building in US for state-of-the-art energy efficiency” and to construct “high-speed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary.” On the contrary, they nodded their heads and signed on.
Nor did they have to worry about their constituencies moving on to saner candidates: in the Democrat field, there are no saner candidates. None of the past and present candidates who signed on to the Green New Deal worried that doing so would make them look just as dimwitted as AOC. They were apparently happy to lend their names to a plan that calls for “a full transition off fossil fuels and zero greenhouse gases,” in other words, destruction of the existing automobile industry, as well as the aeronautics industry. And the prospect of a massive carnage of “farting cows” clearly doesn’t seem to trouble them.
Now we know why: it’s all about fighting ISIS, you see. Turns out AOC is an indefatigable and far-seeing patriot.
In reality, of course, fighting ISIS is the farthest thing from the mind of AOC – and every other Democrat. And the Green New Deal will never be implemented as AOC presented it, for the simple reason that the United States would go bankrupt and a new civil war would break out before all of its recommendations could be put into place. But that won’t stop Democrats from moving in the direction of a unitary socialist state in which all means of production are in the hands of the government – for the good of the climate and the people, of course.
So stop laughing. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her fanatical, totalitarian vision are likely to afflict the United States and threaten our freedom for the foreseeable future, whether or not Donald Trump is reelected in 2020. Yes, the Green New Deal deserves ridicule, but those who are laughing should also pause to recognize what is coming. If Trump does prevail next year over a wildly insane opponent, as his Democrat opponent is virtually certain to be, imagine how out of their minds with rage and hate the Democrats will be by 2024. A genocide of cows will be the least of our worries.
