When the government of Great Britain banned Pamela Geller and me from entering the country for the crime of speaking unwelcome truths about the jihad threat and supporting Israel a bit too vocally, I thought that Britain was a bit too anxious to appease its increasingly aggressive and demanding Muslim minority. When British Prime Minister David Cameron said, “I want London to stand alongside Dubai as one of the great capitals of Islamic finance anywhere in the world,” Britain’s surrender to Sharia became an even more pressing concern, as Cameron will discover that Sharia finance cannot be separated from the rest of Islamic law any more than he could separate a bowl of blood pudding into its constituent parts.
But this past week came five signs that Britain is going to capitulate entirely to Sharia – or else descend into chaos and civil conflict — even sooner than most observers think.
5. Muslim terrifies churchgoers, enters church and shouts: “This is rubbish, you should be preaching Allah, turn to Islam”
The Derby Telegraph reported last week that “churchgoers were left terrified after believing a 52-year-old man who walked into their church ‘dressed like a terrorist’ on Remembrance Sunday ‘might be armed with a bomb.’”
Mohamed Dar didn’t just walk into the church: as he walked in during a service, wearing a bandana that proclaimed “Allahu akbar,” Dar demanded that the congregants “turn to Allah.” He shouted: “This is rubbish, you should be preaching Allah, turn to Islam, we send boys of 10 to war.” One of the assembled Christians recounted: “He was dressed like a terrorist, I though he may have a gun or a bomb or some sort of weapon, I was so frightened.”
It is indicative of how much British non-Muslims have learned to put up with this sort of thing that this incident was reported only in one laconic story in the Derby Telegraph, whereas if a Christian had gone into a mosque anywhere in Britain wearing a bandana that said “Jesus is Lord” and had begun shouting, “This is rubbish, you should be preaching the Gospel, turn to Christ,” it would without the slightest doubt have been national and international news, and the subject of numerous earnest BBC chats featuring media-hyped “moderates” such as Maajid Nawaz, Mehdi Hasan, and Mohammed Ansar, all sounding (in harmony) notes of wounded victimhood.
The incident would be taken as an indication of Britain’s deep-seated “Islamophobia,” and dire need to lay in yet more legal insulation against that vile crime. But Mojamed Dar’s little exercise in dawah (Islamic proselytizing)? That’s just life in Britain today.
4. Two women fined for tearing up Qur’an at soccer match
Two fans of the British soccer team Middlesbrough FC, Julie Phillips and Gemma Parkin, were found guilty Thursday of “religiously aggravated harassment” for ripping pages out of the Qur’an at a soccer match. Phillips was fined £300; Parkin £200. This comes just a few months after another British citizen, Mark Stephenson, was prosecuted and fined for tearing up a Qur’an at a soccer match.
If Mark Stephenson, Julie Phillips and Gemma Parkin had torn and thrown pages of the Bible, would they have been found guilty of “religiously aggravated harassment”? Or have the British authorities simply taken it upon themselves to prosecute violators of Sharia blasphemy laws? Tearing up a Qur’an is a violation of Islamic law, not British law. Will Muslims be charged with “religiously aggravated harassment” in Britain for their repeated claim that Moses and Jesus were Muslim prophets? Why is that merely a rhetorical question?
3. School at heart of Muslim “Trojan Horse” plot “allowed students to speak positively about 7/7, 9/11” jihad attacks
According to the Daily Mail, it’s even worse than that in Birmingham: “A Birmingham school at the heart of an alleged Islamist plot to take over state institutions allowed students to express ‘positive views’ about terrorism, it has been claimed. Park View School in Alum Rock, which is under investigation over the ‘Trojan Horse’ plot, allegedly failed to challenge children’s opinions about the 7/7 and 9/11 atrocities due to ‘cultural sensitivity.’”
Former school employees claimed, among other things, that “worksheets handed to Year 11 male students said that a woman must obey her husband,” and that “sex education lessons contained the message that ‘wives are not allowed to say no’” – in accord with Islamic law. Also, “the school held Islamic instead of Christian collective worship, with students segregated based on gender,” and “some girls were forced to wear a headscarf and female members of staff and pupils were treated as inferior by male Muslim staff.”
This all happened in just one school that is now the subject of an investigation, but the “Trojan Horse plot” by Islamic supremacists to take over and Islamize secular schools seems to have encompassed an ever-increasing number of schools. And that’s understandable. In a culture where those who do not immediately rush to appease Muslims and accommodate their every demand are stigmatized as “bigots,” “racists,” and “Islamophobes,” it is small wonder that these Islamic supremacist educators thought that they would receive little pushback as they worked to Islamize their schools. And as the media firestorm over their plot dies down, they probably won’t.
One school staffer “allegedly spoke of wanting an ‘Islamic state.’” All he has to do is wait awhile.
2. UK: 200 Subway restaurants cave to Muslim demands, remove pork, sell only halal meat
The Daily Mail reported Wednesday that “around 200 branches of Subway” – in Britain, that is, not in the U.S. – “have cut ham and bacon from their menus, serving halal meat in response to calls from their Muslim customers. The sandwich chain said ‘following a strong demand from our Muslim customers’, 185 stores in the UK and Ireland have introduced the meat, which is prepared under strict Islamic rules.”
In the caption on a photo accompanying its article, the Daily Mail writes: “Nearly 200 Subway branches across the UK and Ireland have cut out ham and bacon, selling only halal meat, in response to demand from their multicultural customers.”
Their “multicultural customers”? And exactly what multiplicity of cultures demanded that Subway drop ham and bacon and sell only halal meat? That demand quite obviously came from people of only one culture, and has rendered these 200 Subway restaurants less multicultural than before: now non-Muslims in Britain who would like to enjoy a Chicken and Bacon Ranch Melt or an Italian sub with pepperoni are out of luck: Muslims and Sharia-compliant dhimmis are the only ones who will be served. The non-Muslims of Britain, at least in Subway restaurants (which are clearly in the vanguard), are second-class citizens now, as the Islamization of Britain gallops on.
1. Politician Paul Weston arrested for quoting Winston Churchill
Paul Weston, the chairman of a new political party in the United Kingdom called Liberty GB, was making a speech Saturday outside the Winchester Guildhall in Hampshire when he quoted a notorious Islamophobe. Police were called, and Weston was duly arrested.
The Islamophobe in question was named Winston Churchill. Weston quoted him saying:
How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.
Weston now faces two years in prison for this quotation. How long would the Cameron government lock away Churchill himself for? After all, a man walking around talking like that could hardly be “conducive to the public good,” now, could he?
Nothing could be more emblematic of Britain’s imminent demise than the arrest of one of its contemporary politicians for quoting words spoken by its foremost defender against tyranny. There is little left for David Cameron to do other than to hand over the keys to 10 Downing Street to Anjem Chaudary and head for the nearest mosque to proclaim the shahada.
In light of these five events, it is all the more imperative that they free Mohamed Jamal Miah and every other Muslim who is in prison in the UK immediately for doing something that would be taken for granted as acceptable behavior back home. David Cameron needs to end this Islamophobic inconsistency, get that cross off the flag, convert to Islam, and declare Britain a full Sharia state forthwith. It’s long overdue. And whether Cameron does it or not, it’s coming.
