Los Angeles Declares Columbus Day out, Calls It 'Indigenous Peoples' Day' Instead

Saying that Christopher Columbus “was responsible for setting in motion the greatest genocide known in world history,” Los Angeles City Councilman Mitch O’Farrell announced that they were no longer calling the holiday ‘Columbus Day,’ and instead referring to it as ‘Indigenous Peoples’ Day.’ On today, another Federal holiday, we wonder about the wisdom of this decision. The second largest American city has become a bastion of liberalism, with the largest Women’s March, the most notable sanctuary policies, and now this.
