Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein authored the memo that somewhat led to FBI Director Comey’s firing, and is leading the Department of Justice investigation into Russian interference since Jeff Sessions recused himself. The special prosecutor Rosenstein hired, former FBI Director Mueller, is now under fire for bringing in staff investigators who donated to Hillary Clinton’s campaign. But, in testimony to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Rosenstein said he sees no reason to fire Mueller — and Graham agreed.
