Caitlyn Jenner said, “He [Donald Trump] looked like he would pretty good on LGBT issues, which is important, because my loyalties don’t lie with Donald Trump. They don’t lie with the Republican Party. My loyalties, and what I’m fighting for is my community, the LGBT community, the trans issues that are out there.” And she doesn’t think President Trump has lived up to his promises in that regard. At the Republican National Convention, Trump said, “As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens.” And several times during the course of the campaign, he posed for pictures with rainbow flags and other LGBT symbols. With policy decisions like Attorney General Sessions refusing to back a civil rights case that was already in the federal system dealing with trans-bathroom and bullying in schools, Trump seems to have failed on that commitment. And Caitlyn Jenner is here to remind him of that.
