Caitlyn Jenner took Donald Trump up on his offer and made use of the women’s restroom in Trump Tower.
“One little trans woman walking down the street had to go, I looked up and who did I see but the Trump Tower,” she said at the TIME 100 gala. “Last week Donald Trump said I could use any bathroom I wanted in the Trump Tower. So of course I veered right in there — took care of myself.
“I obeyed all the rules, I promise you, I didn’t throw any feminine products down the toilet. And it actually worked out quite well. It was very good.”
Trump articulated his position at a town hall last Thursday and “noted he’d have no problem with Jenner doing as she pleased while visiting his 68-floor skyscraper.”
Opponent Ted Cruz criticized Trump’s position.
“Let me make this real, real simple for our folks in the media who find this conversation very confusing,” he said during an Indiana campaign rally earlier this week. “If Donald Trump dresses up as Hillary Clinton, he still can’t go the girl’s bathroom.”
