I remember sitting in my high school classrooms from 2021-2024, the years that carried the inertia of the peak wokeness timeline (2020), and during the periods when we studied the humanities, there was always an emphasis on condemning white people, especially white men.
I remember we were analyzing 19th-century Supreme Court cases, where the demographic for the nine justices used to be all white, and our teacher pointed out that fact and said that it was much better that we have a more racially diverse judge demographic today. I remember answering a class discussion question regarding the history between whites and blacks, and my teacher lectured me that I should not use the term “blacks” because it is offensive. He, however, did not condemn my use of the term “whites.” I remember doing a Socratic seminar on Ibram X. Kendi’s book: How to Be an Antiracist and hearing my fellow peers state that whites cannot argue about black experiences. I remember learning how our school’s U.S. History teacher had a difficult time teaching because he himself was a white man.
This happened almost every time we had class discussions, like a daily dose of repeated training to make the students think a certain way: to hate and demonize white people. Then, I went to university for two years, thinking things would change. It did not.
I was rather more rebellious to challenge this line of thinking and narrative pushed onto me since I was young. I am aware of the terrible history surrounding things such as slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, etc., but have always wondered why it was so emphasized to hate a certain group so much, practically to the point of making white people the punching bag in our daily training. It never sat right with me on such a persistent and consistent push to teach young students this.
Why does being white matter so much? Why did we not talk about any of the numerous sacrifices and contributions white people have made to better all our lives in the West? We are able to enjoy lighting at night, able to speak our minds, able to live free from Nazi and imperial rule, and able to use advanced technologies in fields like healthcare, education, and traveling because of the sacrifices and contributions that white men in particular have made.
The telephone by Alexander Graham Bell. The light bulb by Thomas Edison. The Founding Fathers of the United States. These great men had to sacrifice immensely and suffer greatly. It took Bell and Edison years of extensive experimentation, technical challenges, and repeated failures to achieve their inventions that have made all our lives more convenient and better. The Founding Fathers risked their own lives, committing treason against the British Crown, and risked their fortunes, reputations, and security by challenging British rule so we can live in the greatest country in the world, ranging from the economics to the freedoms granted to the people to the way the government is structured. Where is at least the gratitude in that?
My experience with this was just one high school and one university; but in reality, this is the main narrative we teach to our youth and push in discourse across the West: that white people, and white men in particular, are to blame for their existence and white privilege.
For example, in the U.S., fifth graders at a California elementary school were taught that “white people have more privilege.”
Notice in the first video of the article named “11-year-old boy breaks down in tears on Channel 4’s The School That Tried To End Racism” that the 11-year-old boy (named Henry) has better morals and common sense than every leftist always talking about race and obsessed with race.
What we were talking about is what it means to be white. And it felt really weird. I didn't feel comfortable talking.
If I had the choice, I would be with my friends, not just by race, because that feels awful.
Since the start of my life, I've been told that your race doesn't really matter. It's who you are as a person.
Consequently, many white people still became ashamed of their group and identity, in the so-called “white guilt.” So, what do white people who feel ashamed of their group identity do? They hate their identity. They blame their group. They become angry at their group. If you get enough people to vehemently hate a particular racial group, and get people of that particular racial group to hate themselves, then eventually you can justify the replacement of that group. It played out as you would expect, and we see that manifested today in France’s riots.
France, a country that is now ravaged by immigration and diversity, a country embracing suicidal empathy and dying to be kind, a country believing in all cultures being equal and that all cultures can equally assimilate into one country, a country that has learned to hate its own majority citizen demographic of whites and now seeks to put them aside and replace them with different racial groups through open borders and unchecked immigration policies, is now facing the consequences of exactly what it preached.
Different racial groups now come flooding into France. Different groups with different sets of values, different religions, different cultures, different languages, and different morals absolutely cannot all assimilate at the same levels into one country. Obviously, an immigrant who speaks French, loves Western values, practices a religion focused on peace and harmony, and has no criminal history will assimilate far better into France than an immigrant who does not have these qualities.
France ignored this crucial fact. Instead, France cloaked itself in the language of multiculturalism and “diversity is our strength”, letting millions and millions of different migrants flood in, legally and illegally, from all over the world without a proper check on assimilation or numbers. When you allow various people who do not share your values and do not assimilate well to flood in, you get tribal warfare, chaos, and the destruction from within, as we see in France today.
The West is now at a crucial moment in history, where the Left actively teaches us to hate whites, which opens the door to justify rapidly replacing the group with various other racial groups without proper assimilation and without proper checks or limits on their ideologies or worldview. The consequence of that becomes more and more apparent year by year as the values, culture, traditions, and language that hold a country together stretch apart faster and further. Domestic communication fractures, chaos, value misalignment, conflicting belief systems: a house divided against itself cannot stand! This phenomenon transcends France to the Western countries, to the UK, and to my home country, the United States.
This must be stopped, and it can only be stopped if the West begins to acknowledge that whites cannot be guilty as a collective group, and that people ought to be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
