Parents Shamed for Raising Their Children in a 'Tiny' Home by the Beach

Apparently we now live in a time when shaming parents is completely acceptable behavior. A San Diego couple, who has lived in their two-bedroom apartment at the beach with their two sons for nine years, recently got a dose of the worst that humanity has to offer. An anonymous letter arrived in the mail, shaming them for not providing a different living environment for their children.

Here’s the letter, as reported by CBS News:

Parent,

It’s important that you know that you guys are about the most selfish parents around. Because you like the beach, your boys are trapped in a tiny, one bedroom upstairs apartment. Kids need yard to play in. A swing set, or trike to ride when they want to, not just when it’s convenient for you. I don’t know this but I doubt that either of you had to grow up under these conditions.

SHAME ON YOU

Mike and Kelly Brüning provide a loving home for their children, who get to grow up on the beach. Not many children have the opportunity to do that, but apparently having ready access to a swing set is far more important. Sanctimommies and daddies need to take a moment to realize that there isn’t just one way to parent. And that how others parent is none of their business. As you can see on the next page, the couple took to social media to share their experience, and fortunately have received incredible support. It is refreshing to know that not everyone thinks it is acceptable to shame parents for choosing to raise their children as they see fit.

Now.. this place just got interesting. We received this in the mail today … not everyone in 92109 is solid. Sometimes harassment comes in simple forms.
