The “streaming for kiddies” battle is on.

The streaming service battle to attract younger viewers continues.

On Friday, Amazon announced PBS Kids programming — including Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and new-to-Prime series such as Nature Cat — are now available on the platform.

“We’re committed to making Prime Video the best destination for kids and family programming that will both educate and entertain,” Brad Beale, vice president of Worldwide Television Acquisition for Amazon, said in a statement.

The programming line-up includes: Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Arthur, Dinosaur Train, Wild Kratts, Nature Cat, Ready Jet Go! (available Aug. 15) Odd Squad, Peg + Cat, Martha Speaks and WordGirl.

The kids titles are available for Prime members to watch via the Amazon Video app on TVs, mobile devices or online; in addition to streaming, Prime members can also download PBS KIDS series on iPads, iPhones, Android phones and tablets and Fire tablets for offline viewing.

The news comes as each streaming service continues to ramp up its offerings to kids in hopes of getting more parent subscribers.

Netflix, Amazon and Hulu have finally come to understand the power of children nagging their parents for something. Netflix and Hulu are heavy with Disney/ABC offerings, so this move by Amazon to secure the PBS Kids fare was a smart way to stand out. The PBS Kids shows are often a little tamer and more worry-free than children’s programming found elsewhere, which is a relief for careful parents out there.

As the father of a 17 year old, I remember having stacks of VHS tapes (yes, they were still a thing that recently) with kids’ shows and movies all over the place. Within a few years, it was DVDs. Now there is no clutter at all with streaming video.

What do parents who never have to rewind, go to Blockbuster, or make sure every movie is in it right case do with all of that free time?
