Graham on Trump Opposing Mueller Testifying: 'Leave That Up to Mr. Mueller'

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) speaks to the press on Tuesday

WASHINGTON — Reacting to President Trump’s opposition to Special Counsel Bob Mueller testifying before Congress, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said that the decision should be left to Mueller.

Last week, President Trump said Attorney General Bill Barr should decide whether or not Mueller will testify, but on Sunday, Trump tweeted that Mueller shouldn’t testify.

“Are they looking for a redo because they hated seeing the strong NO COLLUSION conclusion? There was no crime, except on the other side (incredibly not covered in the Report), and NO OBSTRUCTION. Bob Mueller should not testify. No redos for the Dems!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

On Tuesday, Graham was asked for his reaction to Trump not wanting Mueller to testify.

“Leave that up to Mr. Mueller,” Graham replied.

Addressing when he plans to hold hearings on the investigation into the origin of the Russia probe, Graham replied, “We’ll wait until [Justice Department Inspector General Michael] Horowitz gives us his report on FISA.”

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was asked if she agrees with the Department of Justice investigating the start of the Russia probe, specifically the use of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants, but she did not respond.
