Tolerance: Feminist YouTube Star Harassed for Dating Political Opponent

It sounds like a romantic comedy: a vocal social justice warrior, a prominent anti-feminist with a massive following on YouTube. They should be the most bitter of enemies, and yet …

Of course, a charming “opposites attract” story is forbidden these days. The Left has become totalitarian to the point that treating a person bearing opposing opinions as an actual person — nevermind dating one — is beyond the pale.

Laci Green had announced recently that she was taking a step back from the whole SJW thing for a bit, because she wanted to actually talk to the other side. She’d already spent time with a well-known anti-SJW who goes by Chris Ray Gun; Chris may be best known for his parody music videos that poke fun at SJWs.

This was upsetting to many on the Left, who began attacking Laci. But that was nothing compared to what happened when the Left found out Laci and Chris were actually dating.

From Heat Street:

They’ve hinted at their relationship ever since Green published a video to talk about “taking the red pill,” in which she criticized feminists who use social justice as a platform for bullying. Following speculation that the two were romantically entangled, Green and Gun have both revealed that they are dating, to the excitement of many folks critical of feminism.

It’s even spawned some fan art.

But not all is well in paradise. Feminists and members of the social justice community have not taken the relationship well, declaring Green’s personal choices to be a betrayal of the movement. After all, she’s dating the man who created the viral “Ain’t No Rest for the Triggered” music video mocking social justice warriors. They’ve taken to criticizing, and even harassing Green.

Male feminist ally Steve Shives has published dozens of tweets and a video weighing in on Green’s decision to reach across the political aisle and condemning her for it. Facebook’s “Love Life of an Asian Guy,” an infamously vitriolic male feminist who once blamed white women for “enabling” Stanford rapist Brock Turner, even weighed in to call Green’s dating preferences a betrayal of marginalized people. Never mind the fact that Chris Ray Gun is Puerto Rican.

Honestly, I can’t report on what Steve Shives has to say on Twitter because, despite never having an interaction with me, he’s blocked my account. Steve apparently blocks everyone.

That said, I see plenty of other people simply unloading on Laci. She’s been called a traitor. Some people — pathetic, pathetic people — are even calling for a public effort to destroy her relationship.

Oh, and they are releasing her personal information, too:

Stay classy, indeed.

Laci has yet to espouse a single opinion on pretty much anything since she returned to YouTube. Nothing. In other words, she might be the same old Laci. Her only crime is … tolerance.

To add another layer of stupid to this, it’s not like the couple are YouTube’s version of James Carville and Mary Matalin. Chris also identifies as a liberal, he just pokes fun at the extremists.

Not that it matters to the social justice zealots attacking her, who don’t realize they’ve just proved Chris correct.
