The unholy politically biased propaganda dance between elected Democratic officials and the American mainstream media continues unabated. Not surprisingly, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is at the center of it.

AOC got things going on Monday with this tweet:

Naturally, a spokesperson for McConnell issued a statement, which liberal hackfest site Daily Beast reported on. Sort of:

After Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) slammed Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for a photo posted on Facebook of a group of young men wearing “Team Mitch” shirts shown choking and groping a cardboard cutout of the Democratic congresswoman, the Senate majority leader’s campaign manager initially responded by saying, in essence, boys will be boys. The campaign ultimately ended up condemning the image as “demeaning.”

The more subtle way to be biased there would have been to present the campaign manager’s statement and spin it. The Daily Beast writer bypasses that and tells the reader what was said “in essence” before burdening the article with anything like a direct quote.

That in itself is enough to warrant a full post but, as always, AOC is the focal point here. This is what she did with the DB summary of the quote that hadn’t yet happened:

Just like that, an opinion in a biased hit piece gets flipped on its head and is “in essence” presented as a quote from the Senate majority leader by a member of the House of Representatives.

Forget that the source can be seen in the link, we all know how the devoted AOC throng rolls. The first thousand or so people may notice that it isn’t really a quote, but it soon may as well be. AOC herself used it as a theme for two follow-up tweets badgering McConnell.

As I have written before, hers is a consequence-free life as far as the media is concerned. She will no doubt become even more bold with stunts like this as time goes on because she knows that no one in the MSM will call her out on them.

Given what we’ve already learned this week about The New York Times, it isn’t a stretch to think that the Daily Beast is taking orders from AOC and/or her staff.

If not directly then, you know, “in essence.”
