Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.
In reality, its mission is to obsess over and respond with histrionics to everything Fox News does. MMFA is probably FNC’s most loyal viewer.
The site was founded by David Brock, a one-time conservative turned left-wing operative, so it has a real “crazy ex-girlfriend” feel to it. The juice-box drinking staff spends their days trying to undermine and discredit the Fox News monster under their beds, all to no avail.
MMFA’s latest windmill tilt at the cable news behemoth involves warning Democratic presidential candidates to avoid the network if they truly care about climate change:
Fox News is trying to entice Democratic presidential candidates to participate in town halls on the network, as Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT) is scheduled to do on April 15. Though Sanders has explained his reasoning for wanting to do a town hall on Fox, there are plenty of good reasons why other candidates should think carefullyabout whether they want to partner with the network.
What follows is a list of supposed heresies committed by FNC against the Church of Climate Change Hysteria. The article is a thousand or so words that can be summed up with very few: “They don’t agree with us so don’t talk to them.”
Of course, this is standard operating procedure for leftists when it comes to any issue. The real motivation here is to shield Democratic presidential hopefuls from any reality-based questions that may expose their ideological lunacy.
If they stick to the MSM forums, they’ll be guaranteed to see more softballs than a summer beer league team that’s always too drunk to hit.
“Senator Harris, how cool are you?”
“Mr. O’Rourke, may I touch your garment?”
Sure, I’m doing a little parody here but, trust me, I’m not far off.
The real sentiment from MMFA is pathetically childish. They simply don’t want Fox News getting any more attention.
Why wouldn’t a candidate want to try and reach outside an echo chamber and get his or her message to a new audience?
Bernie Sanders wants to be on Fox News because he is a savvy presidential campaigner. He knows he will get more eyeballs by far in one FNC town hall than he will hanging around with the friendlies at CNN and MSNBC.
During the primaries, Democrats will, for the most part, be fighting for the largest share of one half of the electoral pie. Sanders wants to see if he can grab even a little piece of the other half of that pie.
Sure, he will hurt the feelings of the delicate little things at MMFA, but hurt feelings about Fox News are pretty much what they run on over there.
