Keep Digging Dems! You'll Find that Pony Somewhere in the Manure Pile Known as the Mueller Report

Somewhere buried deep in the Mueller report is incontrovertible evidence that the president of the United States is a Russian spy. I know it. I just know it. It has to be there.

And I just know that Trump is guilty of obstruction of justice. How can he not be? He’s guilty of so much that the obstruction is, I’m sure, just the tip of the iceberg.

How do I know? Ask any Democrat.

I can’t decide whether it’s amusing or pathetic, this desperate desire by Democrats to will the Mueller report to say something it isn’t saying. An appropriate cultural reference might be that Democrats are searching for Captain Queeg’s missing strawberries even after they know the fruit has been eaten and the culprit found.

Classical? How about Democrat’s tearing the castle apart to find the emperor’s new clothes?

All of those “flipped” witnesses who Democrats believed would turn on their boss and dish the “real” dirt apparently had little to say. Kind of makes you wonder what Mueller got from these cooperating witnesses. Like Bullwinkle pulling a rabbit out of a hat: “Nothin’ up my sleeve…Presto!” (Wrong hat).

To their credit, Democrats are refusing to give up. Maybe if we haul Mueller before a congressional committee, he’ll change his mind and accuse Trump of all sorts of things.

New York Post:

“It is clear Congress and the American people must hear from Special Counsel Robert Mueller in person to better understand his findings. We are now requesting Mueller to appear before @HouseJudiciary as soon as possible,” Nadler posted on Twitter, linking to the letter he sent.

“I request your testimony before the Judiciary Committee as soon as possible – but, in any event, no later than May 23, 2019,” the New York Democrat wrote.

During the news conference, Barr said he would have no problem with Mueller testifying before Congress.

Just what is it they expect Mueller to say that he didn’t say in his report? Democrats can always dream, I suppose.

When AG Barr appeared before the press and gave a shortened version of the Mueller report, there was widespread speculation that hidden inside the massive document were little tidbits that, if taken out of context and sufficiently massaged by the media, would “prove” Trump guilty, guilty, guilty.

They may yet find such “evidence.” While there is certainly exculpatory evidence in the report, there will also be hints that Trump’s actions were borderline and that perhaps Democrats could craft a case out of snippets of unrelated material.

But this still isn’t likely. If Mueller wanted to indict Trump, I doubt anything would have stood in his way. Instead, while “exoneration” might be too loaded a term, he didn’t really come close to indicting or recommending the indictment of a sitting president.

So Democrats are left with denying reality and engaging in wishful thinking. How comfortable for them. No need to think critically, just react emotionally.

The manure pile is getting smaller but it looks like the pony escaped while Democrats weren’t looking.
