Former President Bill Clinton placed the blame on FBI Director James Comey for Hillary Clinton’s “surprise” presidential loss.

“James Comey cost her the election,” Clinton said, according to an editorial published in the Bedford-Pound Ridge Record Review in New York after its editor ran into Clinton at a local bookstore.

Bill Clinton believed his wife was on a path to victory until Comey informed Congress in October that more evidence had surfaced regarding the investigation of Hillary’s private homebrewed email server used to conduct highly sensitive State Department business. The new evidence was contained on Anthony Weiner’s laptop, which was seized by law enforcement during their investigation into his alleged sexual electronic communications with a minor. Weiner’s wife, Hillary Clinton close associate Huma Abedin, had been downloading her email from the Clinton server onto Weiner’s laptop. Law enforcement officers suspected there might be some email on Weiner’s computer that had been deleted off the server before being turned over to the State Department or authorities as the law requires.

Comey was doing his job when informing Congress that the agency had acquired more relevant evidence to their investigation. If he had not reported such a finding and that information leaked from the New York law enforcement agencies investigating Weiner, Comey would have been in serious trouble.

Mere days after Comey sent his letter to Congress, he came forward once again to say the agency had reviewed the estimated 650,000 emails of Huma Abedin and would stick with its previous decision not to charge Hillary Clinton.

Bill Clinton was asked if Trump was smart and responded: “He doesn’t know much. One thing he does know is how to get angry, white men to vote for him.”

He also knows how to win an election.

Clinton’s sour-grapes remarks are just the latest in excuses and blameshifting coming from the Democrats after their brutal losses in November.
