Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who warned that questioning the legitimacy of the 2016 election was “threatening our democracy,” has reemerged as sore loser Hillary Clinton now questioning the legitimacy of the 2016 election.
Her comments attacking the legitimacy of the last election came in an interview with Mother Jones published this past Friday:
Exclusive: @hillaryclinton tells me “there are lots of questions” about legitimacy of Trump's election because of Russian interference & GOP voter suppression https://t.co/lRxBuNgMNg
— Ari Berman (@AriBerman) November 17, 2017
"Do you think it was a LEGITIMATE election?" Clinton: "I think there are lots of questions about its legitimacy, and we don't have a method for contesting that in our system. That's why I've long advocated for an independent commission to get to the bottom of what happened." https://t.co/XAEsK2V2wc

Just days before last year’s election — when all of the media pundits and polling had her believing she was well ahead of Donald Trump — she was singing a much different tune on the topic:
Donald Trump refused to say that he’d respect the results of this election. By doing that, he’s threatening our democracy.

"When you try to sow the seeds of doubt in people's minds about the legitimacy of our elections—then that undermines our democracy." —@POTUS

That was in response to a question posed to Donald Trump during their third and final presidential debate last year:
A defiant Donald Trump used the high-profile setting of the final presidential debate here Wednesday night to amplify one of the most explosive charges of his candidacy: that if he loses the election, he might consider the results illegitimate because the process is rigged.
Questioned directly as to whether he would accept the outcome should Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton prevail on Nov. 8, Trump demurred. “I will keep you in suspense,” the Republican nominee said. Clinton called Trump’s answer “horrifying,” saying he was “talking down our democracy.”
Well after her stunning defeat, look who’s talking down our democracy now:

Yesterday, President Trump had his own response to Clinton’s shocking volte face:
Crooked Hillary Clinton is the worst (and biggest) loser of all time. She just can’t stop, which is so good for the Republican Party. Hillary, get on with your life and give it another try in three years!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 18, 2017
In response to her comments, her backers are now pushing out bizarre conspiracy theories:
New evidence is coming out that Russian hackers changed our actual vote totals. This article from June explains how easy it is for vote totals to be changed in electronic voting machines.
We need & deserve a #NewElection.#AMJoy #Resist #TrumpRussiahttps://t.co/kGrBTIQiux

And openly advocating sedition:
The 2016 election was not legitimate. We may not have a method of fixing it, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. @HillaryClinton is the rightful President of the United States. We must right the wrong, we must regain our stature in the world. We must #InsallHillary pic.twitter.com/UHZq9lZVee

if the situation was reversed the world would have ended. HYPOCRITES

And Hillary Clinton knows who is exactly to blame for the illegitimacy of the election — THE RUSSIANS!!!! [cue scary music]
.@HillaryClinton says Russian interference in U.S. elections is “a clear and present danger” to democracy.

Yet some of the president’s loudest critics are not having any of Clinton’s antics:

And she's doing, absent any self-awareness, exactly what Assange/The Russians were begging Don Jr and his dad to do on election eve.

It’s important to recall how many in the media had her back when questioning the legitimacy of the election was a direct threat to democracy:
Essay: Trump is sowing doubt about the legitimacy of the election. It's dangerous. Press has a duty to challenge him https://t.co/V6CCyZIfdF
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) August 7, 2016
So as Hillary Clinton has completely reversed course on election legitimacy and is now calling for an independent commission to investigate her “Russia hacked the election” conspiracy theories, she also told Mother Jones that any investigation into her own dealings with Russia would be an abuse of power:
Hillary Clinton: DOJ investigating me would be 'abuse of power.' pic.twitter.com/JfFyvTwAMI
— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) November 16, 2017
So in review, Hillary Clinton doesn’t believe that she should be held to her own standard about questioning the legitimacy of elections — and she believes that she is literally above the law.
If you’re Hillary Clinton, laws (and elections, apparently) are for the little people.
