Iconic San Jose Cathedral Vandalized with Satanic and Anti-Semitic Messages

“Hail Satan forever” and “Jew bus wuz here.” Those are some of the messages racists spraypainted on the back wall of the iconic Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph in downtown San Jose.

Last weekend, the cathedral was vandalized. Local City Councilman Raul Peralez’s mother saw the damage done by the vandals before the church could paint over it. The slogans spraypainted on the back wall were truly horrendous: they were both satanic and anti-Semitic.

“It’s sad to see repeated acts of hatred throughout our community,” Peralez writes on Facebook. “My mother serves as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph’s Cathedral and this morning she sent me these discouraging photos that the congregation was greeted with.”

“Discouraging” is rather mildly put. This is absolutely horrendous. These vandals are spray painting anti-Semitic and even satanic slogans on a house of worship. It doesn’t get much lower, much more despicable, than that. Can you imagine what kind of sad people would do such a thing? It’s bad enough that they are anti-Semitic Satanists, but do they really have to show that by damaging a church? Pathetic.

What makes this even worse is that locals tell NBC Bay Area that this is a regular occurrence in this neighborhood. “They’ve been doing parts of the church, they’ve done the back, they’ve done this wall, but I think it’s maybe the second time they’ve done the main building,” restaurant owner Aldolfo Gomez says.

Now, what does it say about the times we live in that a thing like this happens regularly? That an iconic cathedral is vandalized by a bunch of anti-Semitic Satanists every other week or so? I won’t go so far as to say that it’s clear we’re living in the End Times (nobody knows when those arrive, of course) but man, it certainly does prove once again that we in the West have truly lost our way. Not only have we forgotten about the importance of religion, but we have also lost all respect for it… and we no longer have respect for each other.
