As Democrats tried to recover from Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 elections, they created this fantasy that Trump didn’t win legitimately, that Russia manipulated votes and stole the election for Trump, who, of course, was (and still is) a puppet of Vladimir Putin. Such claims are serious—no one would want such a thing to be true… be it about Trump or any president.
The left-wing media, however, thrived on coverage of the Mueller probe. In fact, in 2017, Project Veritas released undercover video of a CNN producer admitting that the Russian collusion story was “mostly bulls—,” but the story was good for ratings. Deep down, liberals convinced themselves that collusion was real. Even in the media. I think to say they were emotionally invested in this narrative is not a stretch.
Last night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow appeared on the verge of tears as she reported the Mueller probe was concluding without any new indictments.

What does this tell you about the people some Americans trust to report the news? I said above that no American should want to have a president compromised by Russia, or any foreign entity for that matter, and yet, Rachel Maddow, a highly-watched media personality, is literally trying not to break down on the air.
Maddow, like many on the left, wasn’t simply convinced that Russian collusion was real. They wanted it to be true. They wanted the fairly-elected President of the United States to be a compromised Russian puppet. Why would anyone want that? Why would anyone cry at what is clearly good news for the country? It was bad enough when liberals in the media couldn’t hold back their outrage and sadness when Donald Trump was elected, but this is so much worse. The left wanted collusion to be real. Why? Because they saw it as a ticket to ousting Trump. Never mind the serious implications of what such a thing would mean to our country.
Of course, this isn’t surprising to those of us who have been paying attention to the rhetoric on the left since Trump’s election or since the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel. On social media, it was hard to find a liberal who didn’t convince themselves that if Russian collusion could be proved that the entire 2016 election could be invalidated and Hillary Clinton installed as president.
It’s time for liberals to dry their tears and move on. There wasn’t collusion. They were all played for suckers by a left-wing media desperate to get them to tune in. It was a scam for ratings. And they were all exposed for the fools they are.
