Good Wednesday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president receives his intelligence briefing
  • President Trump delivers remarks at a Make America Great Again rally in Greenville, N.C.

Clean up on aisle Pelosi

You can see how effective the House Democrats are, how passionate they are about fixing all the problems they keep talking about, by what they choose to spend their time doing. On Tuesday, the Democrats managed to act quickly, relative to how long it takes to get anything done in Congress, vote on a useless resolution condemning the president for his “racist tweets.” Do you remember the resolutions passed by the House in the last 20 years? Exactly.

Yesterday, I explained why Trump’s remarks aren’t racist, he: didn’t single out these SQUAD freaks because of their race, he singled them out because they attacked him. He’s probably attacked more white men that any one of the new special classes of citizens the Democrats are trying to force upon us. Trump punches back, unlike the other castratos representing the GOP. And if you think the Democrats, the media, and the progressive moonbats wouldn’t be calling any other president a racist, a sexist, a bigot, etc., you haven’t been paying attention.

While belching up the resolution, Speaker of the House Pelosi spoke about the president in a disparaging way, which is against the House rules. The House parliamentarian ruled Pelosi’s comments did in fact break the rules, but who cares? The GOP moved to strike her nasty remarks, but were overruled. Pelosi lost her speaking privileges temporarily. If you want to read the play-by-play of this Sturm und Drang, hit the link.

Is there anyone outside the beltway that cares about this soap opera? This is the ultimate exercise in political theater that feeds the rabid lefty base but means nothing to anyone other than the media and the idiots on Twitter with hot takes. Have the Democrats focus-grouped this strategy, because it seems to me to be a very poor pathway to victory.

There will be a vote on impeachment

LET’S GET IT ON.

Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) introduced articles impeachment on Tuesday “under a process that will force a House floor vote by the end of this week.” Go on the record now, crusaders, enough jibber-jabber.

Green said that the House should go beyond condemning Trump and move to remove him from office.

It will be the third impeachment floor vote forced by Green in the last two years, but the first since Democrats took control of the House.

Green previously forced procedural votes on articles of impeachment against Trump in December 2017 and January 2018. Both efforts drew the support of about 60 House Democrats.

A total of 84 House Democrats currently support launching an impeachment inquiry, as well as Independent Rep. Justin Amash (Mich.), according to The Hill’s whip list. But Democratic leaders — and the majority of the caucus — are not yet on board as they seek to continue ongoing investigations of the Trump administration.

The House has two days to bring the resolution to a vote, so Thursday is the deadline. It’s great to get the representatives on record so close to the 2020 election.  So what exactly does Green think merits impeachment? Technically, a president can’t be impeached because the opposing party doesn’t like him.

Green read aloud his articles of impeachment on the House floor, saying Trump is “unfit to defend the ideals that have made America great” and “unfit to ensure domestic tranquillity” and “promote the general welfare.”

As he did in his previous articles of impeachment, Green accused Trump of having “sown seeds of discord among the people of the United States” by inflaming racial tensions and “brought the high office of president of the United States in contempt, ridicule, disgrace and disrepute.”

Man, is this a hoot. Stand by and pop your popcorn for Thursday.
