The Morning Briefing: Mueller Agrees to Resuscitate Dying RUSSIA-Collusion Hoax

Good Wednesday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president delivers remarks at the Faith & Freedom Coalition 2019 Road To Majority Policy Conference
  • President Trump departs Washington, D.C., en route to Osaka, Japan

July surprise: Mueller is going to testify

It doesn’t happen often but I was wrong. I predicted Mueller would not testify before Congress and late Tuesday night news broke that he will appear before two congressional committees in July.

Why? Well, the politically expedient RUSSIA-collusion hoax is fading from the news cycle. The late-night court jesters are short on unfunny material to quack out. Current and former subpoenaed WH administration officials are not providing the ammunition information for show trial hearings and their contested appearances are going to be held up while the Democrats’ demands work their way through the legal system. How to keep this story alive? Let’s get Mueller to testify! Mueller always plays ball. He gladly held a post-Barr press conference to provide some chum for his media and Democrat allies when the AG wisely stripped Mueller’s propaganda report down to its conclusions, denying the #resistance an opportunity to set the “narrative.” And now here comes Bob Mueller to attempt to reorient the public consciousness once more.

“Pursuant to subpoenas issued by the House Judiciary and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence tonight, Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III has agreed to testify before both committees on July 17 in open session,” according to the release.

The good news is that Republicans get to ask questions too. With a compliant media industry, the Democrats will get their payout from the testimony, but does anyone care? At this point, most people have picked their side and all the other people have long tuned out of this dumpster fire.

Adventures in WOKE CAPITAL: Wayfair employees don’t want migrant children to have beds

Wayfair employees are angry and are planning a “walkout” on Wednesday because their employer is selling furniture to migrant detention centers. Our bratty SJW exhibitionists are simultaneously complaining about the substandard conditions of migrant holding centers while trying to prevent any attempt to improve the conditions they love to rally against. Brilliant.

According to a woman identifying herself as an employee of the company, Wayfair employees learned last week that an order for about $200,000 worth of bedroom furniture was placed by BCFS, which operates migrant facilities for the Department of Health and Human Services. BCFS is set to open a new facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas, which will accommodate about 1,600 unaccompanied minors.

More than 500 employees sent a letter Friday to senior management, asking the company to no longer do business with BCFS. They also asked Wayfair to establish a code of ethics that “empowers Wayfair and its employees to act in accordance with our core values.” CNN has seen a copy of the email sent by employees to Wayfair senior management.

“The United States government and its contractors are responsible for the detention and mistreatment of hundreds of thousands of migrants seeking asylum in our country — we want that to end,” the employees said in the letter. “We also want to be sure that Wayfair has no part in enabling, supporting, or profiting from this practice.”

What do these woke political crusaders suggest be done with unaccompanied minors?  Allow them to wander alone into U.S. territory so they can be snatched up by sex traffickers and perverts? What solutions do they offer for the 1,600 unaccompanied minors that do not involve detention while officials try to find a safe, proper place for them?

Wayfair has responded to their snowflake, virtue-signaling employee mafia:

“As a retailer, it is standard practice to fulfill orders for all customers and we believe it is our business to sell to any customer who is acting within the laws of the countries within which we operate,” the Wayfair’s leadership team said in the letter. “This does not indicate support for the opinions or actions of the groups or individuals who purchase from us.”

Good for them. I am a Wayfair customer and if the company caved to this woke tantrum, I would be done with them. I’m sick and tired of businesses turning into political crusaders. Stay out of political matters or I will not give you my business. I encourage others to follow suit. Go buy something from Wayfair today, I will be.

You know what we need to do? Decriminalize unauthorized breaches of our border

Progressive lunatics are pushing 2020 presidential candidates to campaign on decriminalizing unauthorized border breaches and getting rid of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In an effort to push the candidates to the left and fill a noticeable messaging void in the primary, eight liberal groups — including United We Dream Action, MoveOn, and Indivisible — want the presidential contenders to subscribe to their “Free to move, Free to stay” policy platform.

Progressives are laying down the marker ahead of the first Democratic presidential primary debates Wednesday and Thursday, and as President Donald Trump defends his detention of children at the border and threatens to round up families for deportation.

The platform, provided first to POLITICO, tells candidates to stop using the slogan “comprehensive immigration reform,” to end mandatory detention, and to defund and reform Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection.

This is an awful general election issue, the majority of voters care very much about the public safety in their communities. Getting rid of ICE so that criminal aliens cannot be removed from preying on innocent people is not at the top of anyone’s list of political concerns. I hope all the Democrats sign on to this ridiculousness.
