AG Bill Barr appoints prosecutor to look into origins of RUSSIA-collusion hoax

Attorney General Bill Barr has appointed John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, to examine the origins of the RUSSIA-collusion charade. Politico “reports”:

Durham’s appointment comes about a month after Barr told members of Congress he believed “spying did occur” on the Trump campaign in 2016. He later said he didn’t mean anything pejorative and was gathering a team to look into the origins of the special counsel’s investigation.

Barr provided no details about what “spying” may have taken place but appeared to be alluding to a surveillance warrant the FBI obtained on a former Trump associate, Carter Page, and the FBI’s use of an informant while the bureau was investigating former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos.

Scare quotes around “spying” LOL. Barr doesn’t need to provide details about the spying because some of it is out in the public realm already if you aren’t the industrial-advocacy-media-complex ignoring it. The FISA warrants, based on the salacious and unverified dossier are a good starting point. Then there are the SPIES put on Page and Papa-D. Then there are the text messages about an “insurance policy” to protect against a possible win by Trump. So, yeah, the SPYING isn’t really a speculative matter at this point.

Durham is a career prosecutor who was nominated for his post as U.S. attorney in Connecticut by Trump. He has previously investigated law enforcement corruption, the destruction of CIA videotapes and the Boston FBI office’s relationship with mobsters.

In nominating him, the White House said Durham and other nominees for U.S. attorney jobs share Trump’s vision for “making America safe again.”

Durham was unanimously confirmed by the Senate in 2018. At the time, Connecticut’s two Democratic senators, Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, called Durham a “fierce, fair prosecutor” who knows how to try tough cases.

Rosenstein rips Holy James Comey

Rod Rosenstein who recently retired from the DoJ, spoke at the Greater Baltimore Council last night and dished some smack on his former boss, Twitter personality James Comey. He called the Comey a “partisan pundit” who crossed “bright lines that should never be crossed.”

Rosenstein, who is acknowledged as a weak and tractable man by those who know him, seemed a little sour that a punk like Comey would honk all over the media about Rosenstein and AG Bill Barr being mesmerized by a soul-eating President Trump. Many people, myself included, believe Comey is having some kind of psychic break, but nevertheless, words hurt, Jim!

“Now, the former director is a partisan pundit, selling books and earning speaking fees while speculating about the strength of my character and the fate of my immortal soul,” Rosenstein said. “That is disappointing. Speculating about souls is not a job for police and prosecutors. Generally, we base our opinions on eyewitness testimony.”

“The clearest mistake was the director’s decision to hold a press conference about an open case, reveal his recommendation and discuss details about the investigation, without the consent of the prosecutors and the attorney general,” Rosenstein said. “Then, he chose to send a letter to the Congress on the eve of the election stating that one of the candidates was under criminal investigation, expecting it to be released immediately to the public.”

“My soul and character are pretty much the same today as they were two years ago. I took a few hits and made some enemies during my time in the arena, but I held my ground and made a lot of friends. And thanks to them, I think I made the right calls on the things that mattered.”

I don’t think we have seen the last of Rod “25th amendment” Rosenstein. He may have left the DoJ, but the DoJ hasn’t left him.
