Good Monday morning.
Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:
- The president has lunch with the vice president
- President Trump welcomes the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Champions: The Baylor Lady Bears to the White House
Climate of antisemitism
The New York Times published a hateful cartoon with a familiar anti-Semitic trope last week and the outlet released an apology three days later. I’m not reproducing it here, if you want to see it you can google it.
We apologize for the anti-Semitic cartoon we published. Here’s our statement. pic.twitter.com/nifZahutpO

The Times claims the cartoon was published by a single editor without appropriate oversight. Do you believe that? What kind of newspaper editor thinks that cartoon was fit to present to the public? More importantly, what kind of culture exists at the Times where an employee would feel comfortable green-lighting such hateful trash?
Oh, by the way, we had another synagogue shooting this weekend on the last day of Passover. I must have missed all the calls from the cultural vanguard that “we” need to tone down the rhetoric — rhetoric like the smack talk coming from sitting members of Congress and left-wing movement groups.
Anti-Semitism is excused and normalized by the media and the Democrats when they fail to critically cover people like Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and groups like the Women’s March and Black Lives Matter who are aligned with the anti-Semitic BDS movement. The Democrats in Congress were unable to pass one of their stupid resolutions that would condemn anti-Semitism. These are not serious folks. Sadly, the Poway synagogue shooting will disappear as fast as the Sri Lanka “Easter worship” slaughter because it’s inconvenient to the left’s narrative: the Poway gunman was a Trump-hater.

More on the synagogue shooting
One thing you aren’t hearing too much about in the news stories about the synagogue shooting is that a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun.
The man who fired a semi-automatic weapon inside the Chabad of Poway synagogue in San Diego on Saturday froze, dropped his gun and sprinted to his car when he saw Oscar Stewart come barreling toward him, yelling so loud the priest at a neighboring church could hear.
“Get down!” Stewart yelled, according to his wife and others who were at the scene. “You motherfucker! I’m going to kill you!”
“I heard gunshots,” Stewart said. “And everybody got up and started trying to get out the back door, so I — for whatever reason — I didn’t do that. I ran the other way. I ran towards the gunshots.” TOXIC MASCULINITY, ladies and gentlemen.
“When I came around the corner into the lobby area, I saw the individual with a gun, and he fired two rounds. And I yelled at him and I must have yelled very loud, and he looked at me, and I must have had a really mean look on my face or something, because he immediately dropped his weapon and turned and ran. And then I gave chase.”
Amen, brother, amen.
The shooter was using an “AR-style” weapon, which may or may not be true since reporters think every black rifle is an AR. California has strict requirements for the weapons the state has arbitrarily classified as “assault rifles.” When you hear that an AR-style firearm has been used in a crime in California, remember that it’s illegal to use an actual AR. (This USA Today piece I just linked is very anti-gun. The AR is too weak, they don’t use them in the military.)
Danielle Rudolph, director of sales operations at Poway Weapons, said if an AR-type firearm is “featureless” or features a fixed magazine, it is legal.
“The way law enforcement uses it, every-day citizens cannot,” Rudolph said, adding that she considers AR-type firearms to be modern sporting rifles and not assault weapons. “It’s heavily configured.”
A rifle without a pistol grip, a thumbhole stock or other features can be compliant with the law in California, which tightened gun restrictions in 2017.
Brady-stooge Kyleanne Hunter wants you to know that “They [AR-15s] are legal in Nevada and Arizona and it’s very easy to drive across state lines without anyone knowing,”
What this clown isn’t saying is that it is illegal to buy an AR-15 in another state and bring it to California. The gun nannies don’t want to talk about the existing firearm laws because they want to make even more laws that violent criminals will ignore and law-abiding citizens will not. And they actually don’t really know what the laws are.

Democrats change the rules for AG Barr testimony
Attorney General William Barr agreed to appear before Congress to discuss the Mueller report, but the Democrats want to run a bait-and-switch. Instead of Barr being questioned by members of Congress, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler wants to bring in the committee’s lawyers to join in on the fun.
Nadler, wants to allow all members of his panel at Thursday’s hearing to have one round of questioning of five minutes each, according to the source. He also wants to allow for a subsequent round of questioning of 30 minutes for each side, allowing both parties’ committee counsels to also engage in questioning during their respective turns — which has turned into a key sticking point for the Justice Department.
“The witness is not going to tell the committee how to conduct its hearing, period,” Nadler, a New York Democrat, said. It’s clear to see what the Democrats want to do: undermine and sully Barr with some punishment and attempted humiliation. Nadler said of his plans: “Then we will have to subpoena him, and we will have to use whatever means we can to enforce the subpoena.”
“The attorney general agreed to appear before Congress. Therefore, members of Congress should be the ones doing the questioning,” said Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec. “He remains happy to engage with members on their questions regarding the Mueller report.”
Even CNN admitted Nadler’s request is “unusual.”
Barr is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary on Wednesday and the House Judiciary on Thursday.
