Good News, America: Obama Doesn't Plan to Shut Up in 2020

Nobody misses Obama being president as much as Obama misses Obama being president. The Democratic Party sure doesn’t. They lost over 1,000 seats nationwide between 2009-2017, and they’re still trying to claw their way back to relevance after Hillary Clinton failed them so miserably. Obama was behind her all the way, spending all his political capital on getting her elected. He really put himself out there for her. Whoops! But, as with all of Obama’s other failures, he sees himself as blameless. It’s everybody’s fault but his. So now he’s ready to inflict himself upon the Democratic nominee in 2020.

David Brennan, Newsweek ($1):

A former senior adviser to President Barack Obama has said that the president is deeply concerned about the direction of the U.S., and that the two-term president plans to be involved in Democratic efforts to defeat President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

Valerie Jarrett, who worked for Obama from 2008 until 2017, told the BBC that her former boss is “very concerned about the direction our country is going…”

“I’ve said quite publicly I think that Vice President Biden was indispensable to President Obama. He would make a terrific president.”

Obama himself is more reticent, refusing to endorse his own vice president yet. But if Biden manages to get the nomination (there’s still time to wire his jaw shut), Obama will fall in line. They all will.

Can’t you just see them back together again? Barry ‘n’ Joe, out on the campaign trail. Joe says something stupid and Barry just grins his way through it. Again and again. Just like old times.

The good news for all the Trump fans who hate my guts is that when I look at the array of clowns lined up against him, I don’t see any of them beating him in 2020. Despite the steady drumbeat from the media and the rest of the #Resistance, or maybe because of it, Trump has momentum now. And on top of that, having Obama out there to remind voters of all the policies they rejected in 2016? I just don’t see how that hurts Trump.

Plus, criticizing Obama always brings accusations of racism, which just alienates people against the Democrats even more.

The bad news is that so far I’ve been wrong about everything. Sorry about it, Trumpkins!

P.S. If you insist that Trump is running concentration camps along the border, as is now the Democratic Party line, then so did Obama.
