Exorcist Claims Demonic Oppression on the Rise. The Cause Is Truly Disturbing.

Catholic exorcist Father Chad Ripperger believes that demonic oppression is rising across the globe, but what is causing the phenomenon to increase so drastically? The answers are quite disturbing. If you're a Christian, Catholic, or Protestant, and you read your Bible and take it seriously, you know demon possession and oppression are real things. In my opinion, many who profess belief have shown a shocking lack of belief in the supernatural realm.

And while Ripperger doesn't mention it, I believe this is one of the big reasons demonic oppression and possession are becoming scarily common, at least compared to previous years. It amazes me that people have zero problem believing in a supernatural being who is all-knowing, all-powerful, and outside of time, but struggle with the idea of demon possession. To me, this simply shows an attempt to ignore the terrifying reality that powerful, intelligent beings wish you harm.

But putting a blindfold on and walking out on a busy highway won't stop a semi-truck from splattering your insides all over the road. Pretend demons aren't real all you like. But the truth is, they are. And they hate humans with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. Their whole goal is to hurt God by damning us to eternal punishment. Like it or not, a cosmic war rages all around us and we each have to pick a side. By not choosing Christ, you choose Satan. Period.

During a recent interview with former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan on his podcast, Fr. Ripperger theorized that exterior forces such as jobs and relationships—not just internal struggles—are bringing people under increasing demonic influence. In other words, demons are employing a different strategy in our modern era to destroy souls. Some of the tactics our spiritual enemies use include wrecking a person’s finances by “blocking people from getting paid.”

He also noted that demons can damage people's property, including appliances. Ripperger described a case of demonic oppression where an exorcist witnessed one appliance after another break down in a person's home, month after month. He also noted that the devil's imps can cause couples with solid marriages to suddenly feel miserable with no reasonable explanation.

So what causes someone to become a target of demonic oppression?

Fr. Ripperger said curses cause one pathway. Someone dabbling in black magic can perform these occult rituals to harm a specific person.

“The amount of oppression is drastically on the rise,” Ripperger said during the interview, “because of the increase of involvement in the occult.” He also noted that a person who engages in grave sinful behavior can invite oppression and even allow it to work in tandem with a curse.

“One of the primary ways we see an increase in oppression is guys watching pornography that’s been cursed, and then they bring that into their family,” Ripperger told Ryan. Yes, you read that correctly. Porn can actually be cursed, as if the smut itself isn't already a curse to those who become addicted to it. No destructive weapon in the hands of the demonic rivals pornography. It has the power to obliterate entire families and spread from one generation to the next.

In fact, most young children who encounter porn find it on a parent's computer or in some stash in the back of the closet. Addiction to sex and lust-saturated content can happen almost instantly and often drives the viewer toward darker and more twisted types of images and videos.

Hold on to your butts for this next part. Ripperger says Satanists have cursed video copies of films distributed widely to the public for decades as a practice to help boost the sales of both movies and music. The priest explained that during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, Satanists “taught the people in Hollywood that if you curse the master copy, all of the subsequent copies made from that will bear the curse and it can influence people.”

With pornography, Ripperger says the cursed content becomes more addictive. But for curses to take effect, we must have a “vulnerability on our part,” such as a grave sin or character defect. Something like that does not simply happen to someone. There has to be a chink in the armor.

If you suffer from porn addiction, you need to seek help and counseling immediately from a priest, pastor, or mental health professional. If you leave it untreated, pornography will consume your life, take more of your time, wreck your romantic relationships, and even cause sexual dysfunction on a physical level. God is waiting to set you free from this vile form of bondage. Take Him up on the offer before dark forces haunting our world oppress you.
