Elizabeth Warren — Harvard professor and former Morning Joe stalwart, and Cherokee from Oklahoma — has announced her intent to once again run for Scott Brown’s seat in the U.S. Senate:

“The people of Massachusetts didn’t send me to Washington to roll over and play dead while Donald Trump and his team of billionaires, bigots, and Wall Street bankers crush the working people of our Commonwealth and this country,” Warren wrote in an email to supporters, according to the Boston Globe. “This is no time to quit.”

No indeed, although she was mighty silent on the great Hillary-Bernie Sanders fixed fight, circling the campfire warily before deciding to sit this one out. But all best are off for 2020:

Warren, 67, was floated as a potential Clinton running mate and is widely considered a possible 2020 presidential contender.Warren vowed to take on the “Trump Administration’s racism, sexism, bigotry and hate” and fight for minority groups and embrace diversity. She also promised to continue fighting for debt-free college, minimum wage increases and Wall Street reforms.

“Fighting.” For a pacifist party, the Democrats sure are always “fighting,” aren’t they, with nary a peace pipe in sight. Why, Hillary’s campaign was all about Her Struggle, when you come to think about it. Meanwhile, a guy who made a living thriving on high-pressure competition is ready to step in and tomahawk High Cheekbones’ electoral chances:

Former Boston Red Sox star pitcher Curt Schilling is throwing a curveball at popular Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) — he’s nearing a bid to unseat her. Schilling all-but-announced he would run for Senate in 2018 during a Tuesday morning interview on Rhode Island’s WPRO, according to CBS reporter Ted Nesi.

“I’ve made my decision, I’m going to run,” Schilling said.

Have the debates at Fenway Park and let’s see who comes out ahead.
