As chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee, Rep. Maxine Waters is one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington, D.C. That is why it’s so shocking that she now demands not only the impeachment of President Trump but even his arrest and his imprisonment “in solitary confinement.”

“I’m calling on the GOP to stop Trump’s filthy talk of whistleblowers being spies & using mob language implying they should be killed,” Waters writes on Twitter. When you read that, you can be forgiven for thinking that she’d proceed to call on everybody to remain calm.
Well, bad news. She actually steps it up a notch. “Impeachment is not good enough for Trump,” she adds. “He needs to be imprisoned & placed in solitary confinement. But for now, impeachment is the imperative.”
This is downright shocking. Waters calls for the imprisonment of a democratically elected president. Democrats have become fascists. There is no other way to put it.
After attacking Trump and calling for his imprisonment “in solitary confinement,” Waters goes on to call for the impeachment of Attorney General William Barr.
AG Barr is the highest law enforcement officer & the worst. He's supposed to be the people’s lawyer, but he’s just Trump’s puppet. He's been caught soliciting foreign countries' help in undermining his FBI & our Intel agencies. He should be Trump’s companion w/impeachment.

And she isn’t done yet. According to Waters, Rudy Giuliani too should be held to account for his support of Trump.
It’s certainly past time for Giuliani's docs/texts to have been subpoenaed by our committees. His brazen lies, outrageous distortions, & attempts to do anything Trump wants him to do have got to be stopped. His unintended revelations will help us solidify Trump's impeachment.

Note that Giuliani is Trump’s lawyer. By arguing he has to be “stopped,” Waters is actually arguing that Trump doesn’t even have the right to defend himself against the left’s accusations. Democrats are not only the prosecutors in the case against Trump, but they’re also the judge and jury.
Of course, all this is yet more proof that Republicans cannot allow Democrats to get away with plans to impeach Trump. If they do, every single future Republican president will suffer the same fate as Trump. And that, in turn, means the death of democracy.
No matter what happens, Republicans can’t let that happen. Waters and her ilk have to lose this battle. The future of American democracy depends on it.
