Seattle Defensive End Michael Bennett on Jerry Jones Benchings: 'You're Property'

If you want to know how insane the “kneel during the national anthem” movement in the NFL is, look no further than Michael Bennett, defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks. This multimillionaire, who owes everything to the country in which he was born, is furious with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for benching those pathetic protesters.

Jones’ decision to bench such crybabies, Bennett says, reminds him of Dred Scott. “You’re property. So you don’t have the ability to be a person first,” he told CNN’s Jake Tapper.

Note, this is a guy who earns millions of dollars a year, who won a Super Bowl, and who played in the Pro Bowl in 2015 and 2016. In other words, Bennett is living the American Dream — he’s the embodiment of it, even — but somehow believes that a) racism is ever present in American society and b) that doing what your boss tells you to do is akin to slavery.

It just proves how out of touch current NFL players are with the rest of society. The average Joe understands that doing what your boss wants is part of being an employee. There’s nothing wrong with that. Your employer is paying you, the end.

Not so according to these activists/multimillionaire athletes. No. In their own minds, they are so special that they can do whatever they want without any regard for the views and demands of their employers. And when those employers — those who give them their paychecks at the end of the month — dare to complain, they’re a bunch of racist slave-holding thugs.

It won’t come as a surprise to anyone with at least some degree of common sense that Twitter users aren’t entertained by Bennet’s ridiculous accusation:

The single best way to end this type of ridiculousness from NFL players? Force them to work in a factory for a couple of days. That’ll make them feel grateful rather than entitled real fast.
