The Libertarian Party has released a fantastic chart in which Gary Johnson, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump are compared to each other. The obvious (and correct) conclusion: Trump and Hillary are essentially the same. There’s only one difference between them: Hillary is in favor of international socialism, Trump’s for national socialism.
Other than that, the two see eye to eye on most issues.
Now, Gary Johnson isn’t a staunchly libertarian candidate — at all. Compared to Hillary and Trump, however, he’s the second coming of Thomas Jefferson. Yes, I realize that tells us more about them than about him, but that doesn’t make it less true.
The real litmus test to determine whether a candidate is a progressive hack (in disguise) or not is: Is he or she going to cut spending? In the case of both Hillary and The Donald, the answer is “no.” Only Johnson says he wants to reduce spending by as much as 20 percent. That makes him the only somewhat libertarian or conservative candidate out of these three.
Another important point issue is whether or not the budget should be balanced. Johnson and his Libertarian Party want to balance it now. His two main opponents couldn’t care less. They’re about big spending. They love themselves some debt. And why shouldn’t they? After all, they’re elderly people. Chances of them being forced to pay back America’s debts are non-existent. That’ll be up to younger generations.
No wonder Trump said at the end of the debate that he would “support” Hillary if she wins the election.
