Is Fetterman Finally Seeing the Democrat Party for What It Really Is?

Something's shifting in the swamp, and it's not the usual D.C. fog. Sen. John Fetterman is once again breaking ranks with his party, and it feels more and more like he’s seeing his party for its true colors. Do I think he’s finally seeing the light and will walk away from his party? No. But the criticism of his party reflects something deep going on.

Fetterman, the Pennsylvania Democrat who somehow survived his party's radical wing, went on Fox News' Saturday in America and dropped a truth bomb on his party. He openly backed President Donald Trump's strikes on the Iranian regime, calling them a vital step to stop Tehran from developing nuclear weapons.

"I don't know why we can't just be honest," Fetterman told host Kayleigh McEnany. "The last two professional candidates for the Democratic Party all agreed that we can never allow Iran to acquire nuclear bombs, and that's made that possible now. I think we can say, 'Hey, that's a great thing. That makes the world more safe, more secure, and holds Iran accountable.'"

Imagine that—a Democrat praising Trump because he did the right thing. Fetterman tied it directly to America's core goal: no nukes for the world's top terrorism sponsor. He watched 53 House Democrats vote against labeling Iran exactly that. That's not a glitch; that's the new normal for his party.

"That's almost 25% of Democrats in the House that can't just call Iran the world's biggest terrorism underwriter," Fetterman said.

Obviously, this isn't Fetterman's first rodeo bucking his party. He stood as the lone Senate Democrat voting against a resolution to handcuff Trump's war powers on Iran. His caucus pushed it hard, but Fetterman called it out as drifting from decades of bipartisan red lines. "That's where our party's been heading now," he warned. "I can't imagine why you wouldn't just identify that's what Iran is."

He recalled how virtually every Democrat he knew once hammered the same line: Iran with nukes is an existential threat to America. No more. Now, they clam up because agreeing with Trump poisons the well back home. "I know why they don't say that now because I'm aware that it is very damaging as a Democrat to just happen to agree with the president on anything," he admitted. His fix? Simple and revolutionary: "But, for me, that's easy—country over party."

Fetterman has learned what conservatives have been shouting from the rooftops for years. Democrats ditched pro-American roots ages ago. If 9/11 happened today, I think it’s debatable which side they’d be on. Today, they’re choosing globalist fever dreams over border security, energy independence, or standing up to thugs like Iran. They've proven it time and again; they’re allergic to anything smacking of patriotism, especially if Trump's involved.

Fetterman's getting wise to it, and that’s a good thing.

Don't get me wrong—this isn't a full conversion. Fetterman's still a Democrat, voting with his crew 95% of the time. But moments like this crack the facade. President Trump's strikes worked because they matched reality, not rhetoric. Fetterman sees it, even if his party’s leaders refuse to. I’m not expecting Fetterman to leave his party and become a Republican. Still, it would be nice if he were the first of more Democrats who become comfortable acknowledging that their party has become far too radical and anti-American.
