With the November 2026 midterms approaching, polls and historical precedent suggest Democrats have the advantage. But the strange thing is, they’re not acting like it. Do they know something we don’t? I wouldn’t be surprised. Instead of talking about their big plans for when they return to the majority, they’re resorting to the same old tactic they’ve always been using, calling him a dictator, talking about impeachment, and now, another old tactic is being revived.
The latest example comes from Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts, who just called for President Trump’s removal from office via the 25th Amendment. His reasoning is — as you probably could have guessed — dumb.

And the truth is, that it won’t go anywhere. For the 25th Amendment to activate, Vice President JD Vance and a majority of the Cabinet would have to formally tell Congress that President Donald Trump is unable to perform his duties. That’s not happening. Everyone in Washington knows it. Even Markey knows it.

So why do it? Simple. He’s gotta win a primary, and in the age of the progressive purity test, nothing says “I’m still one of you” like demanding Trump’s removal from office. Reps. Ayanna Pressley and Seth Moulton are both running for Markey’s seat, and while he’s arguably favored, some polls show he could be in real trouble of being ousted. That’s the standard playbook: When you’re short on results, you scream “25th Amendment!” It fires up the base, earns points on MSNBC… err MSNOW…, and distracts from the fact that Democrats still don’t have a coherent message beyond being anti-Trump.
But, Markey isn’t the only Democrat playing the 25th Amendment card. So, it’s bigger than him trying to protect his seat.
But what makes this especially rich is that Democrats spent years insisting Joe Biden was fit for office when it was painfully obvious he was not. He got lost on stage all the time, mumbled through speeches, and couldn’t remember how or when his own son died for crying out loud. The media covered for him then, assuring everyone that stumbling through speeches was “just Joe being Joe,” and that videos of him looking lost were “cheap fakes.” But now they want to declare Trump unfit because he sent a blunt message to a foreign leader?
Markey’s latest outburst just proves the Democrats’ lack of imagination. He wants to win his primary and the only play he’s got is the anti-Trump card that every other Democrat plays. After years of Russia hoaxes, impeachment fantasies, and endless investigations, all they can do is dust off the same old script. They’re out of ideas, out of energy, and out of credibility.
So here we are again, watching another Democrat try to score points by pretending Trump’s assertiveness is a sign of incompetence. It’s not going to work. The American people have seen this play before, and they know how it ends. The left still hasn’t figured out that crying “Constitutional crisis” every time Trump does something they don’t like only makes them look desperate — and it reminds voters that the party calling everyone else unfit might want to check in with itself first.
